DUNS 'WAKE' IT THROUGH!
Dundela are through to the final of the IFA Interim League Cup after a 4-1 win over Wakehurst. Bloomer, McKay, Ferguson and McCracken were the scorers. The Duns started well and took the lead thanks to Barry Bloomer. A corner was swung in; Scott Murray got a flick on it, and the Duns number 9 Bloomer headed in. They doubled their lead through a smashing Darren McKay free kick. Murphy layed the ball off, and he curled his shot past the wall & keeper to make it 2-0. Wakehurst pulled one back just before half-time, as the forward slotted in from the edge of the 18 with the ball going through the legs of another home player who was clearly in an offside position.
In the second period both teams pressed for the all important goal. Dundela got it. Michael Ferguson picked up the ball at the corner of the 18, and smashed into the top corner.
Substitute Craig McCracken continued his good form and put the game beyond doubt late on, as he found himself through one on one with the ‘keeper and he kept his cool to slot home.
Dundela will now play H&W welders in the final – Date & Venue TBC.
